Summer Recap #1

I figured before I can start writing about what is currently going on in my life I should post some of the fun things that happened while I was away. There are a few that I'll recap more thoroughly in the near future, but for now you'll just get a little sneak peak ;)

The hangout area... as you can see a lot of alcoholic beverages were consumed!
Our brand new SIX person tent... Yes I convinced my husband we needed that :)
Memorial Day Camping // We spent the weekend in Lansing camping with Thomas' cousins and their friends and we had a great time! I'm a little embarrassed to admit that this was my first time camping... can you believe it?! We discovered the greatness of Battle Shots, got our butts kicked at flip cup, and banged ourselves up playing volleyball. The weather was perfect and I can't wait to go again next year!

Parkinson's 5K // The first weekend in June Thomas, my brother, and I ran a 5k that supports the Parkinson's Foundation which is very important to me seeing as my grandpa was diagnosed with Parkinson's in December 2012. It was the worst run of my life and I haven't ran since, but seeing my grandpa tear up after we crossed the finish line made every cuss word worth it. And one day I'll give running another chance...

Columbus Zoo // Another weekend in June we made the three hour trek down to Columbus, Ohio with Thomas' parents. Thomas and I went the year prior and loved it {we're big zoo people} and this trip was no different. While it was a little hotter we still walked the entire zoo and especially loved the Gorilla's {how adorable is that grandma and granddaughter?!}, riding the camel, and feeding the Stingrays! In my opinion this zoo is definitely worth the drive.

Skydiving// This adventure deserves a post of its own so stay tuned!

Detroit Tigers Game // Every summer we try to make it to downtown Detroit to watch our beloved Tigers play. This summer we went with 6 of our friends and had a great time!

4th of July // Duke and I spent the Fourth of July with my girlfriends at their families lake house. The weather was perfect, the company was great, and the fireworks were awesome!

Detroit Zoo // My nanny girls and I spent a lot of days at the Detroit Zoo this summer thanks to their membership. One day we even met up with two of my girlfriends and their nieces, which was a blast!

Okay I think that's enough for one post. I'll post the rest of our summer activities tomorrow :)
