Anniversary Trip to Gatlinburg, TN | Day One

Oh hi, hello there. I have been working on this post for weeks now and I think it's time I finally hit publish. I mean this trip happened four months ago for Pete's sake!

So back in July Thomas and I headed down south to Gatlinburg, TN to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary. When deciding where we wanted to travel to we only had two requirements, that it was within driving distance and that it was relaxing. Gatlinburg definitely fit the bill!

We decided to hit the road in the middle of the night, leaving Michigan at 2:30am, which got us into Gatlinburg around 11am.

2am looks good on us don't you think?

We couldn't check into our cabin until 4pm so we headed downtown to find food. We I chose The Mellow Mushroom after reading awesome reviews about the restaurant. While the food was good, it wasn't spectacular.

We were playing around with my new lens and using manual for the first time!

After lunch we decided to kill some more time by playing a round of put-put golf at Hillbilly Golf, which was totally different than any other course we've ever played at. And of course it was a lot of fun! Playing put-put is one of our favorite things to do together :)

Once our game was over we were finally able to check into our cabin and words can't even describe how perfect it was! The view, the cabin, the hot tub, everything was amazing. And for those of you who are curious we stayed at Honey Bear through Parkside Cabin Rentals and we couldn't recommend them enough!

Like I said, I'm still trying to learn how to use manual..

Isn't it so adorable?! Seriously, the most romantic cabin for a getaway. I'm not sure how we'll ever stay in hotels again ;) By this point we were starving again so we headed back downtown and ended up at Smoky Mountain Brewery. The waitstaff was horrendous and the place was slammed, but our fried pickles and wings were delicious!

Then it was time to go back and enjoy everything our little cabin had to offer!

The views were breathtaking, especially from the hot tub ;)

So there you have the first day of our anniversary trip that happened four months ago... at this rate it'll be our third anniversary before I finish the recap. Kidding ;)
