Thomas attended Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA. He left in July of 2009 and graduated in October. His parents, sister, 8 friends, and myself drove down for his graduation/Turning Blue ceremony. We were all so proud of him and happy to be there to celebrate with him!
After 4 months away he was officially "free" for two weeks before reporting to his Unit at Fort Polk, LA. We made the most of those two weeks! During our the drive back to Michigan we stopped near Jackson, Tennessee to visit family friends and to go Cave Splunking! The caves and waterfalls in TN were awesome.
