Valentine's Day Weekend

Whew, what a weekend! We managed to have a great weekend and Valentine's Day despite the bitter cold weather that Grand Rapids is experiencing.

We laid low Friday night, watching Shane Mauss' The Mating Season comedy show on Netflix and doing some online house searching. We're just starting the possible home buying process and I'm already overwhelmed.

We celebrated our Valentine's Day on Saturday, starting with reservations at The Melting Pot! The Melting Pot is my favorite restaurant and when I saw the special Valentine's Day menu I knew we had to go. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Thomas even said it was probably the best meal we've ever had there and we've been a handful of times.

For our courses we chose the Caribbean cheese fondue, Caesar salad for me & House salad for T, Cupid's Feast meat platter (chicken, filet, lemon garlic shrimp, pork medallion, teriyaki-marinated sirloin, and spinach & artichoke ravioli) and Chocolate Wild Berry Crunch for our chocolate. All of it was fantastic!

We spent over two hours there eating and enjoying one another's company. From there we headed across the parking lot to the movie theater where we saw Deadpool. I was not a fan.

Saturday night we went to a Mega 80's concert at The Intersection with another couple and had a blast! It was so fun dancing, singing, and people watching! Lol

As soon as we woke up on Sunday morning we took Duke for a two mile walk around our neighborhood. We even stopped at a local coffee shop for coffee and hot coco :) On the walk we passed a house fire and it was so heartbreaking seeing the family standing outside watching everything they owned burn. It was a great reminder to be always be thankful!

We dropped Duke off at the house and headed out to run errands. The first stop was The Mitten State in Eastown, where I picked up a Mitten tee! Such a fun store for Michiganders.

While we were in Eastown we decided to grab some lunch at Erb Thai, because we had never been there before. The Yellow Curry Fried Rice with chicken was super yummy.

The rest of the day was boring: driving around looking at houses, grocery shopping, homework, laundry, etc.! I only have my internship 3 days this week so I'm really looking forward to the 5 day weekend that's ahead!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day weekend too!
