GR Beer City Ale Trail | Odd Side Ales

My husband would say it isn't a weekend without a trip to a local brewery (or two..). This past weekend we ventured to Odd Side Ales. This brewery actually isn't in Grand Rapids, it's a 35 minute drive away in downtown Grand Haven. Grand Haven is a beautiful beach town right on Lake Michigan.
Had we not been with friends who had already been there we would've never found the place! There are no signs and it is in the middle of a "strip mall." Once inside, it was a pretty cool place. Wide open, ample tables, and a few games (including the infamous "bubble hockey"). One important thing to note is that they don't have a kitchen/serve food. They do, however, allow you to bring food in from outside. So we picked up gyros on the way and took those in.
Prior to visiting this brewery my husband had only ever had one of their beers so he opted for a sampler. He enjoyed all of them, especially the Sweet Potato Pie and Hazel Nuts.
Check this restaurant/brewery off of our never-ending must visit list! Don't worry, there are approximately 1,000 more ;)

Weekend Recap | Beautiful Spring Weekend

This past weekend was one of the best weekends we've had in a while and it was largely due to the amazing weather- 80 degrees and sunny so of course we had to take advantage of it!

Friday night we dusted off the charcoal grill and had an impromptu BBQ. A few friends came over to grill, play yard games, and watch the Detroit Red Wings game.

Saturday morning we headed downtown with Duke in tow for a nice 2 hour walk with a pit stop at Panera for breakfast on the patio. I can never have enough Blue Bridge pictures.
We headed to Grand Haven for the afternoon with a few friends. We stopped at Odd Side Ales, walked along the water, and then stopped at Vander Mill's on the way back. It was a great day trip and I can't wait to explore more of Grand Haven.
We ended the day at the Grand Rapids Griffins' final regular season game. They didn't pull out the win, but it was still a great time!

Sunday was another beautiful day spent outside around the house, while Thomas worked with his classmates on a group project.

I can't wait for more weekends like this!
